PutraLMS is the latest UPM learning management system deployed to facilitate all aspects of e-learning activities in the university.
       
PutraLMS enables the delivery, management, and administration of university-wide courses. It allows a course administrator to centralize content, student management, and reporting in one convenient interface and technology package.
       
The University Management has mandated the Centre for Academic Development (CADe) to plan, design and develop a full feature, SCORM compatible and visually attractive e-learning platform; the PutraLMS. PutraLMS learning management system was developed and deployed to fullfill the following objectives:
       
1. To enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities through the use of a common e-learning platform.
2. A single integrated databases of learning contents which are shareable among UPM's educators and experts.
3. To facilitate effective and systematic system maintenance and improvement of the learning management system running on a common e-learning platform.
4. To fullfil the University's vision of producing quality graduates who are competative, ethical and has the ability to progress and excel through life long learning.
       
PutraLMS was launched on 28th. April 2009 by the Timbalan Menteri Pengajian Tinggi, Y.B. Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah in conjunction with Seminar Kebangsaan Teknologi dan Inovasi Pengajaran-Pembelajaran 2009 (SKTIP09) co-hosted by UPM and AKEPT(Akademi Kepimpinan Pengajian Tinggi), with the cooperation of MEIPTA (Majlis Ketua-Ketua Penyelaras ePembelajaran IPTA Malaysia) at the Hotel Palm Garden IOI Resort Putrajaya.
