| PutraLMS enables the delivery, management, and administration of university-wide courses. It allows a course administrator to centralize content, student management, and reporting in one convenient interface and technology package. |

| The University Management has mandated the Centre for Academic Development (CADe) to plan, design and develop a full feature, SCORM compatible and visually attractive e-learning platform; the PutraLMS. PutraLMS learning management system was developed and deployed to fullfill the following objectives: |

To enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities through the use of a common e-learning platform. |

A single integrated databases of learning contents which are shareable among UPM's educators and experts. |

To facilitate effective and systematic system maintenance and improvement of the learning management system running on a common e-learning platform. |

To fullfil the University's vision of producing quality graduates who are competative, ethical and has the ability to progress and excel through life long learning. |

| PutraLMS was launched on 28th. April 2009 by the Timbalan Menteri Pengajian Tinggi, Y.B. Dato' Saifuddin Abdullah in conjunction with Seminar Kebangsaan Teknologi dan Inovasi Pengajaran-Pembelajaran 2009 (SKTIP09) co-hosted by UPM and AKEPT(Akademi Kepimpinan Pengajian Tinggi), with the cooperation of MEIPTA (Majlis Ketua-Ketua Penyelaras ePembelajaran IPTA Malaysia) at the Hotel Palm Garden IOI Resort Putrajaya. |
